WORDPRESS GUIDE

WordPress heatmaps.
Start with the right sample.

A useful heatmap connects an identifiable page layout with captured clicks and scroll reach. Mixing incompatible layouts can hide the pattern you are trying to understand.

Install and verify

Add your website in TMV Go and install the WordPress plugin from its installation instructions. Open a logged-out browser window, visit a page, click a link, and scroll. Confirm the replay includes those actions before interpreting a heatmap.

Choose a page, period, and device

Open Heatmaps and select one website. Choose the exact page and date window, then mobile or desktop. Use a recorded layout when you need a precise visual reference. Desktop/mobile comparison keeps each sample separate.

Read the layers

Click markers show matched captured interactions. Scroll bands show the proportion of measured page views reaching that depth. A 50% reach label is about the selected sample, not all historical visitors. Deleted recordings and different date filters can change the denominator.

Check caching and exclusions

After changing your installation, clear WordPress caches. Script-delay settings may postpone recording, and logged-in users may be excluded. Consent decisions and blockers can also reduce the sample.

Turn the result into a test

If important details appear below where most measured visits stop, try placing a concise version earlier. Review both the next heatmap and relevant replays rather than treating one small sample as a permanent verdict.
