What should I investigate first?
✦ TMV GO

Start with the checkout experience.

Repeated clicks appeared in 18 checkout sessions, and 7 sessions captured a JavaScript error. These signals suggest an obstacle worth investigating, but do not prove why visitors left.

Build a funnel

Define the ordered steps in a journey, such as product, cart, checkout, and a confirmed purchase event. Compare the number of visits that reach each stage.

Follow the campaign

Use captured referrers and campaign attribution to investigate the journeys associated with your traffic sources.

Review the signals

Explore form activity, errors, engagement, and performance samples alongside the recordings that give them context.

Useful recommendations, with evidence

Smart Insights uses rules and observed events to identify useful recordings. Recommendations are listed newest first; the recording list can be sorted by watch score. A recommendation can surface a checkout visit, an explicit conversion, or friction worth reviewing. Use these rule-based recommendations alongside Ask TMV Go’s AI answers to choose recordings worth reviewing.

Make conversion events trustworthy

A purchase should be reported after confirmation, not when a visitor merely clicks a checkout button. Similarly, a form attempt is different from a successful submission. Connect explicit success events from your own application.

Investigate abandonment carefully

Inactivity and a missing purchase event can identify a candidate for review. They do not establish that a person failed to purchase: an integration gap, another device, or a later visit may explain it.

Traffic quality, not just traffic totals

Acquisition quality

Compare captured sources and campaigns by sessions, engagement, active time and converted sessions.

Exit-page analysis

See the last captured pages of inactive visits. Open example recordings to investigate where journeys end.

Audience breakdowns

Compare conversion rates across device, browser and country groups, with sample counts visible.

Connect friction to the experience

Compare sessions with captured errors and different measured loading speeds. Open example recordings to investigate what happened. Performance comparisons show associations, not proof that a slow page caused a lost conversion.

Follow visitors across visits

New and returning browser comparisons and visitor timelines bring retained page paths, events and recordings together. See earlier retained visits before a conversion shown in the report.

Choose the changes you want to hear about

Enable email alerts for conversion-rate drops, increases in the share of sessions with errors, error counts or missing recording activity. Rate comparisons require at least 20 sessions in each comparison period. Alerts are opt-in.

Revenue with confirmation

For sites with a purchase-confirmation integration, verified gross order revenue is attributed to the linked recording’s source, campaign and landing page. Browser conversion events alone are not treated as verified revenue.

Reports use retained recordings. Small samples are marked; a missing event or the last captured page is a signal to investigate, not proof of a visitor’s intent.

Ask visitors with custom surveys

Create a written-answer, 1–5 rating, or multiple-choice question in Optimize → Surveys. Choose a page path, display delay and position, customize the button and thank-you text, then publish. Publishing pauses any other active survey on that website. Owners and administrators manage surveys; permitted teammates can review responses.

Surveys appear during consented recording sessions. Visitors can dismiss them; dismissal suppresses the same survey for 30 days in that browser. A recorded answer prevents further prompts while the response is retained. Responses link to recordings and expire with them. The survey interface is excluded from replay.

Find form friction, rage clicks and errors

Open Optimize → Forms for field interactions, submission attempts, validation errors and the last field before exit. Native HTML forms are tracked automatically; custom widgets may not emit those events. Confirmed success requires your site to call TMVGo.formSuccess(form) after success.

Optimize → Rage clicks groups repeated-click bursts by page, with example recordings and timeline markers. Three clicks within one second and 30 pixels are a possible frustration signal, not proof of frustration. Optimize → Errors shows occurrence counts and affected sessions by error type, including JavaScript, resource-load and unhandled-promise errors. Browser restrictions and capture limits can leave some errors unreported.
